Pat serves as the President of the Once Upon A Time Foundation. Prior to his current role, Pat was CFO of Texas Exchange Bank, portfolio manager at Q Investments, Vice President at Koch Industries, and Product Manager for Skid Steer Loaders at Case Corporation.
Pat graduated magna cum laude in electrical engineering from Tulane University and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School. He and his wife have a 18-year-old daughter and a 14-year-old son.
Bethany joined the Once Upon a Time Foundation in April of 2018 as an Associate Program Director of the Philanthropy Lab. Prior to joining the foundation, Bethany worked as a Marketing Communications Specialist at Baylor University.
Bethany graduated magna cum laude in May 2016 from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Fellows and Public Relations. After graduation, she spent a year in Greece working for an NGO providing aid and teaching English to Syrian refugees. In her free time, she loves traveling, hiking, running, and going to the beach.
Associate Program Director
Spencer joined the Once Upon a Time Foundation in September 2020 as an Associate Program Director of the Philanthropy Lab. Prior to joining the Foundation, Spencer worked as a Mathematics Tutor.
Spencer graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas Christian University in May 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, double-majoring in Mathematics and Theatre. Outside of the Foundation, he enjoys music, running, knitting, and hanging out with his roommate’s cat.
Associate Program Director
Jamie joined the Once Upon a Time Foundation in June 2021 as an Associate Program Director of the Philanthropy Lab.
Jamie graduated from Texas A&M University in May 2021 with a Bachelor of Science degree in University Studies: Business, and a certificate in Social Innovation and Nonprofits. During her undergrad, Jamie took the Philanthropy Lab Class at A&M in the fall of 2020!
Kathy Thomas, M.S. CCC-SLP
Senior Program Director – Child Apraxia Treatment
Kathy is a certified speech-language pathologist with over 30 years of experience treating adults and children with complex communication needs. Prior to joining the Once Upon a Time Foundation in 2015, she was a Senior Lecturer at the University of North Texas and Director of the UNT Speech and Hearing Clinic. Kathy’s interest in serving children with complex communication needs, including children with severe motor speech and language disorders, propelled her interest in working with the foundation to develop programs to support children with communication disorders and their families.
Breanna Waldrup, M.S. CCC-SLP
Program Director – Child Apraxia Treatment
Breanna joined the Once Upon a Time Foundation in August 2020, and is a certified speech-language pathologist with over 13 years of experience treating children with communication disorders, 10 years of which have been focused on treating children with motor speech disorders, primarily childhood apraxia of speech (CAS). She has attended and presented numerous continuing education courses on CAS. In addition to her role at the foundation, Breanna owns a private practice that specializes in treating CAS. Her passion for helping children with CAS and their families motivated her to join the Foundation team.
